An Embodiment Of Love Messages in Old Times.
Our friend Rawya Abo Hanna asked us for a design for two necklaces carrying the word “Mom” in Arabic, one for her and another for her beloved sister, Rana.
The requirements were a simple and elegant couple of necklaces carrying the two diamonds belonging to an earring that their mother “Julia” used to wear till their last days.
It turns out that these earrings had an amazing love story between her mother and her father, who gifted them to her. A story that presents a challenge that demands a worthy design.
The educated young man Anis Abo Hanna is from a modest family, falls in love with Julia, the daughter of Fawzy Aazer, one of the wealthiest people of Nazareth city at that time. Who, in order to gain the satisfaction of his love’s father, went to study law in Al Quds. While the only means of communication between him and Julia were handwritten messages that were sent through the mail.

Anees was able to have Julia, even though he wasn’t able to offer her more than a simple ring, announcing the victory of love over the traditions and society’s limitations.
That happiness didn’t continue for so long, since Anees died at young age after a struggle with illness, leaving his beloved Julia and 3 children Rana, Rawya and Rasheed.
But there is a heartwarming ending for this story, where the amazing eldest daughter “Rana” collected the love letters sent by their father to their mother in a book to commemorate their love forever.

For me, it was important to keep the earrings in every design, not just the diamonds. The result was a piece full of magnificent feelings and passion.
I was very happy getting to know Rawya and Rana, and I am proud of being a part of a great love story by a design that touches my soul.

This is what Rana said:
Precious Enas,
I hide my tears and emotions.
I meditate on the earring’s story.
The amazing ideas, the creative soul, and perfect design, I am so amazed.
“Mom” is a diamond that still has a shine in my mind, heart, and soul.
“Mom” is a bright gold that doesn’t change even if not around.
“Mom” is like the Arabic calligraphy, uniquely beautiful and connected with its letters, making a single word . . . “Mom”.
And here you are sending us her earrings as necklaces for me and my sister to keep them on our chests forever!
What a smile!

They will be with us everywhere.
And will be an icon on our chests forever.
To carry the word “Mom” wherever we go.
Thanks, from the deepest places.
And hoping for another meeting.
Rana
