Some people leave a mark on our lives without us noticing.
I knew my friend and colleague, the lawyer Bana Shoghry before she knew me when I was in the primary stage. I read about her in newspapers, she won a prize for writing a story as I remember, on which she was accepted at the schools of excellent students at “Al Quds”. Days passed, and the same desk unified me with her in the university, where we studied law. There Bana was an excellent student and one of the law courses trainers at our university.
I knew for sure that Bana will leave her mark in this field of her excellence, steady steps, and sharp sight. Today Bana is one of the most prominent figures in the field of human rights, and here she is scoring one success after another.
I am completely sure that people we meet even by chance have an influence on our lives, their presence was never a mere coincidence, every one of them had an effect on building our character and life journey.
From Bana and other successful figures, we learn to be ambitious and challenge ourselves, that if we really wanted something, nothing will be impossible and it’s in our hands to change the reality we are living in. Our consciousness is programmed to do that when we surround ourselves with successful people, to learn from their experience and success.
After an absence of more than 20 years, Bana called me, and she described her fascination with my designs and asked me for one of them.
No need to mention how happy I was with this request, so I started designing according to her request with all love and passion. Surely after sharing our story that she didn’t know at the time.
Bana wanted two earrings to go with a ring that her family gifted her on one occasion, but she wanted the earrings to carry two sentences by Mahmoud Darwish:
” أثر الفراشة لا يرى – أثر الفراشة لا يزول “
“A butterfly’s trail is not seen – A butterfly’s trail doesn’t go away”.
The color selection is rose gold.
Stones are natural pearls and radiant red granite.
Without a doubt, it was an influencing experience and one of the most beloved designs to my heart in both meaning and design.
